À propos de l'Église de Christ
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:15-17) NIV
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
Did you know that this passage does not speak only of certain sins of the world, but all that the world uses for it’s pleasure? Verse 16 speaks of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. All that man uses to lift himself and make him happy is « Idolatry », regardless of the situation, it is lust and pride, because ONLY ONE IS WORTHY AND RESPONSIBLE FOR LIFTING US AND TO GIVE US OUR JOY IN OUR TIME OF NEED… “JESUS CHRIST”
Every celebration we have with the people of the world are from pride and carnal lust. The Bible tells us that the love of the Father is not in these people. We are not called to glorify ourselves, but to humble ourselves and place our Lord first, at all times and in all things. We do not deserve anything. To have been chosen, is PURE GRACE..
Here are a some examples of the things that the world loves to celebrate but are not from God :
Maybe you’ll say, « But in your list, I see Halloween as the only celebration that God is surely against. » Then I ask you, « Why only Halloween? » Why do certain Christians not celebrate Halloween? Is it because it’s the only celebration that manifests death and fear etc…? “NO!!!” THEY ARE ALL DEMONIC; THEY ARE ALL DISGUISED BY THE ANGEL OF LIGHT… ALL DESGUISED! THEY ARE THERE TO PLEASE THE WORLD AND NOT GOD. JESUS SAYS THAT WE ARE IN THE WORLD, BUT WE ARE NOT FROM THE WORLD.
14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. (John 17:14-18)
Oh brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask you the same question that Paul asked:
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
All these celebrations today are idols and by celebrating them, we worship and glorify ourselves. We also participate in enriching the rich of this world. ONCE AGAIN, FOR A REASON COMPLETELY CARNEL, we grieve OUR LORD BY OUR WORLDLY DESIRES. And for all these reasons, God says that we love the things of the world.
Let’s be vigilant : « 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. » (Ephesians 5:27 NIV) Let’s celebrate every day and at all times the one whom we gave our whole life to, our Lord Jesus, celebrating Him for who he is and for what we have from Him every day. ..His LOVE, His GRACE and His WORD !!!!
MORE OF HIM AND LESS OF US…LET US DECREASE SO THAT HE WILL INCREASE AND TAKE WHAT IS HIS.
1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2: 1-11 NIV)
LET US GIVE UP THE THINGS OF THE WORLD AND LET’S CELEBRATE THE REAL REASON FOR OUR LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS.
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (Philippians 2: 12-13 NIV)
Be blessed and encouraged by these words,
In Him and for Him,
