À propos de l'Église de Christ
Should we invoke, invite, glorify or pray the Holy Spirit?
The Spirit of God does not speak of His own.
(Jn 16:13-15) But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
Here we clearly see that the Holy Spirit does not speak of Himself, but He only speaks of Jesus. This is why we cannot invoke, invite, glorify Him or even pray to Him. Let me explain myself: The Holy Spirit is not of his own initiative because He is submitted to Jesus as Jesus is submitted to the Father. This is why the Holy Spirit “will speak only what he hears.”
If the Holy Spirit speaks only what He hears, it’s because He is submitted to someone else. Jesus says that the Holy Spirit only says what He (Jesus) says, because all that belongs to the Father belongs to Him (Jesus).
God gave all power to Jesus.
(Mt 28:18) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me”.
In John 16:14, Jesus said: « the Holy Spirit will reveal His glory« , not the Glory of the Holy Spirit.
It is from Jesus that the Holy Spirit will receive what he will make known to us. He will not speak on His own behalf.
The Father is glorified in the Son:
(Jn 14:13) And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Likewise, the Holy Spirit is glorified by the Son, because He is the third person of the Trinity. Nowhere does the Word of God tells us that we must invoke, invite, glorify or pray to the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit does nothing that is not received from Jesus Himself. He is our Comforter and our teacher of God’s Word (Jesus).
Everything is done only through Jesus; we have access to the Father only through Jesus :
(Jn 15:16) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
Jesus also said :
(Jn 14:14) You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
According to me, this verse also tells me that we are not obliged to only go to the Father in our prayer time, but we can also go directly to Jesus.
Jesus says in :
(John 16:23)In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
“Whatever we ask the father in His Name (In Jesus Name)” The Father will give us.
The verse in (Jn 14:14) tells us that if we ask Him for anything in His name, He will do it., not the Father, but He (Jesus).
Jesus never said that we could go to the Father through the Holy Spirit or ask the Father in the name of the Holy Spirit. He doesn’t tell us to pray to the Holy Spirit, but what He does tell us is to pray in the Holy Spirit.
(Jude v20) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
So why then are some Christians practicing a doctrine that Jesus never commanded us to practice?
Do you really think that the Holy Spirit will answer us if we go against what Jesus taught us?
Do you think that the Holy Spirit loves to be glorified in the Father’s or the Son’s place, when Jesus specifies that the glory belongs to the Father and Himself (Jesus)?
We know that the Holy Spirit is God (The third person of the Trinity), but He was sent by Jesus to do what Jesus told him to do or say. « HE IS OUR COMFORTER SENT BY JESUS. » Jesus does not tell us to invoke, invite, glorify or pray the third person of the Trinity. With this said, we must not invoke, pray or even worship the Holy Spirit through songs like « Welcome Holy Spirit », that song and others like it must sadden the Holy Spirit enormously, knowing that only the Father and the Son are to be glorified. We must not add what is not written in the Scriptures.
(Rev 22:18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
The Holy Spirit did not come by Himself as Jesus did not come by Himself. Jesus was sent to us by the Father so that we could be saved from eternal death that we inherited from Adam. The Holy Spirit was sent by Jesus as our comforter and teacher.
Jesus says in:
(Mt 28:18) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore, absolutely everything must go through Jesus, there is no other way. Do not be seduced by the false doctrine that man has decided to establish in its synagogues.
According to these verses, declared by Jesus, do you think that it is really the Holy Spirit that comes when you invoke or invite Him, after Jesus has established His rules on how and whom we should glorify and pray?
So then, knowing all of this, who comes when we invoke or invite the Holy Spirit? Because we surely feel a presence, no?
If the Holy Spirit must not be glorified, then, “Who do we glorified when we praise and worship the Holy Spirit?”
If we are not to pray the Holy Spirit, “Who answers our prayers if they are answered?”
Do your own Bible research, and do not accept your interpretation of a Bible word or verse. Do not accept another person’s interpretation either, verify with the Bible and only accept what the Bible says and what it means by looking up the word’s true definition, let it be in Greek or in Hebrew. Look through the strong’s definitions. Do not accept everything that is said by a certain leader.
We will all be judged FOR NOT OBEYING what Jesus is saying to His Church:
(John 12:47-50) “If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge that person. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day. 49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. 50 I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”
THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST MUST ONLY HAVE JESUS AS ITS MASTER …
BECAUSE HE IS THE ONE BUILDING HIS CHURCH.
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the Church.
Don’t forget that also « I AM MY BROTHER’S KEEPER »
